Hi,
I’m Frazer.
It’s a pleasure to have you here! I’m excited to be a part of your wellness journey.
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. My training included a 600-hour internship at the University of British Columbia’s Counselling Services. While I am based in BC, I offer virtual therapy across Canada.
My focus is to create an environment in which you can feel open and comfortable to talk about your concerns and to work together towards finding a meaningful path forwards. Recognizing that taking the first step is intimidating, I want to honour your courage for doing so. I promise to hear you out with respect, and without judgement.
With the foundation of trust, we will work together to mesh an approach that centres around experiencing and clarifying emotional needs, while we balance what can be changed and how to manage barriers.
Whether you’re navigating what your life’s purpose is, dealing with anxiety, self-esteem, I’m here to provide evidence-based support along every step of your journey. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy options.
I look forward to meeting you!
An integrative approach
My approach to counselling is integrative, meaning that I draw from a host of evidence-based therapies to provide you with the best fit for your care. You do not need to choose which of these we’ll use, but if you’ve tried something in the past and it felt like a good (or not so-good) fit, please let me know!

-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an approach that emphasizes psychological flexibility, which is the ability to stay open to thoughts and emotions without being controlled by them. It encourages and supports individuals to learn how to accept difficult feelings and thoughts, rather than avoiding or fighting them. ACT helps people clarify their values and take committed action toward goals that are meaningful, even in the face of internal challenges. By fostering acceptance and mindfulness, it aims to increase psychological flexibility, promoting a life that is both purposeful and enriched by personal values.
-
Attachment-based psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the impact of attachment relationships on an individual's emotional and psychological well-being. It emphasizes the importance of creating a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where unconditional regard and acceptance are central. This environment allows clients to explore and understand their interpersonal processes, including patterns of connection and disconnection. By offering a secure base, the therapist helps clients build healthier relationships and emotional resilience, facilitating growth and healing through exploration of past experiences and current emotional needs.
-
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is a type of psychotherapy situated in the camp of Process-Experiential Therapies. EFT is centred on the idea that emotions are key to understanding and transforming psychological struggles. The therapy focuses on helping clients become more aware of and articulate their emotions, using them as a pathway to self-discovery and healing. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, clients are encouraged to explore and process emotional experiences, transforming negative patterns into healthier emotional responses. The goal is to help individuals develop a deeper emotional awareness and create more fulfilling, authentic connections with themselves and others.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps folks to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, promoting healthier patterns of thinking and action. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, aiming to reduce distress and improve coping strategies in everyday life.
-
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioural therapy that emphasizes the development of skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It strives to help individuals manage intense emotions and improve their interpersonal relationships.
-
Existential-Humanistic therapy focuses on helping individuals explore and confront fundamental questions about existence, such as meaning, freedom, isolation, and death. It emphasizes personal responsibility, self-awareness, and the potential for growth, fostering a deep understanding of one's authentic self. By focusing on the present moment and creating a genuine therapeutic relationship, this approach helps clients find meaning and purpose in their lives, while embracing the challenges and uncertainties of the human experience.
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centred, collaborative counseling approach designed to enhance an individual's motivation to change by resolving ambivalence. It involves empathetic listening, open-ended questions, and reflective statements to help clients explore their own reasons for change. The goal is to strengthen the client's intrinsic motivation and empower them to take meaningful steps toward their desired outcomes.
-
Trauma-informed psychotherapy is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma on an individual’s mental and emotional well-being, and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the therapeutic process. It emphasizes creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood, while gently helping them process and heal from past traumatic experiences. The therapy also integrates awareness of trauma’s effects on the brain, body, and behaviour, fostering resilience and promoting recovery.
-
Solution-Focused therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than exploring problems. This approach works great for folks coming in with a specific goal or who can only engage in a limited number of sessions. It encourages clients to identify their strengths and resources, helping them envision their desired future and take concrete steps toward achieving it. The therapist works to help clients build confidence and create practical strategies for change.
