• Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and cost $145. This is consistent with BCACC’s RCC fee schedule and can be covered/reimbursed with most extended health plans in BC.

Counselling and psychotherapy is tax-exempt (GST & HST) in Canada.

  • Yes! After each session, I will send you a receipt that can be provided to your extended health plan for reimbursement. Please check with your insurer to make sure you’re covered for RCC’s (registered clinical counsellor) sessions.

  • A 15-minute consultation call is to get to know each other, see what brings you to therapy, and give you a chance to decide if it’s a fit for us to work together. No pressure!

  • After our consultation call, our first therapy session together will go into more detail about what’s been impacting you. The first counselling session is a little different than future ones, as we will work to get to know each other, explore what brought you to therapy, and discuss goals for our work together. We will work together to figure out a plan of action for your healing journey. This is done collaboratively, together.

  • In BC, counselling & psychotherapy is a self-governed profession. I am registered as an RCC with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), an association which provides oversight of the professional conduct and maintains a standard expectation for all its members (RCC’s). All RCC’s in BC hold at minimum a Master’s degree, and are qualified to provide psychotherapy & counselling.

  • Some provinces have regulated the term psychotherapy, such as Ontario through it’s regulatory body, CRPO. Currently, BC has yet to regulate the profession and as such doesn’t use a licensed term for therapy.

Counselling and psychotherapy both are forms of individual therapy, counselling generally focuses on less intensive care, while psychotherapy is more specific to the treatment and support of clinical concerns. RCC’s are qualified to provide both counselling and psychotherapy.

  • At present, I am currently seeing my clients by phone or through virtual sessions (telehealth). Our virtual sessions are hosted through Jane.app

I am not currently doing in-person sessions at this time, but would be happy to help refer you to someone who does!

  • Currently, I accept payment by e-transfer and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX).
